Permanent makeup typically lasts between 1-3 years, depending on the treatment area, your skin type, and lifestyle factors. Lip blush and powder brows generally last 1.5-2 years before a refresh is needed. Sun exposure, skincare products with acids or retinol, and oily skin can cause faster fading. Regular touch-ups help maintain vibrant, fresh-looking results.

Most clients describe the sensation as mild discomfort rather than pain. We apply a topical numbing cream before and during the procedure to minimize any discomfort. Lip treatments may feel slightly more sensitive than brow or eyeliner procedures, but most clients find it very manageable. Many even relax or fall asleep during their appointment!

For best results, avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood thinners (including aspirin and ibuprofen) for 24-48 hours before your appointment. Don't schedule your appointment during your menstrual cycle as skin tends to be more sensitive. Avoid sun exposure and tanning for two weeks prior. Come with clean skin—no makeup on the treatment area—and avoid working out the morning of your appointment.

The healing process takes about 4-6 weeks. In the first few days, the color will appear darker and more intense—this is normal! Around days 3-5, you'll experience some flaking and the color will appear lighter. Don't pick at the treated area. By week 2-3, the true color begins to emerge. Full healing and color settling occurs by week 4-6, which is when you'll come in for your touch-up appointment.

Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment that deposits pigment into the top layers of skin to create a soft, natural-looking tint—like you're wearing a subtle lipstick. Traditional lip tattoos use different inks that go deeper and create a more solid, opaque color that can look harsh. Lip blush fades gradually over time and is designed to enhance your natural lip color, not replace it.

Most healthy adults are great candidates for PMU. It's especially beneficial for those who want to save time on their makeup routine, have allergies to traditional cosmetics, have sparse brows or uneven lips, or have difficulty applying makeup due to vision issues or unsteady hands. However, PMU is not recommended if you're pregnant, nursing, have certain skin conditions, are prone to keloid scarring, or have compromised immune systems.

During your consultation, we'll discuss your desired look and measure your facial features to determine the most flattering brow shape for you. We consider your face shape, natural brow growth pattern, lifestyle, and personal style preferences. Before any pigment is applied, we'll draw on a template shape for your approval. You'll have complete input on the final shape—we won't start until you love it!

Powder brows (like our Teddy Brows) create a soft, filled-in look similar to makeup, while microblading creates hair-like strokes. Powder brows tend to last longer, work better on all skin types (including oily skin), and heal more consistently. They're also more versatile—you can achieve anything from a subtle enhancement to a bolder brow look. Many clients who previously had microblading prefer powder brows for their longevity and natural finish.
